Summary Position The Student Health Insurance Project Manager is responsible for administration of the Student Health Insurance Program (SHIP), which includes management of the enrollment and waiver processes, communications strategies, reconciliation of enrollment records and financial processes, and customer service. The position will also oversee other student insurance programs that may be offered to students and families (tuition insurance, dental insurance, etc.). The Student Health Insurance Project Manager plays an important role in monitoring student compliance with state and university health requirements regarding student health insurance, communicating with students and families about the requirements, monitoring and serving as a liaison with identified insurance vendors. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt (salaried) position, reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students, and working collaboratively with offices and individuals across campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Student Health Insurance Project Manager is responsible for administration of the Student Health Insurance Program (SHIP) and other student insurance programs, which includes management of the enrollment and waiver processes, communications strategies, reconciliation of enrollment records and financial processes, and customer service. Manage the insurance enrollment and waiver process for the SHIP including data validation and reconciliation of plan participants Advise and instruct students, parents, and the campus community on provisions of the SHIP and other potential insurance programs (e.g., communication, eligibility requirements, presentations at orientation events, etc.); provide excellent and responsive customer service to respond to student and parent questions and concerns Manage program communications/marketing in partnership with internal and external constituents, including students and parents; Maintain SHIP website and partner with insurance carrier for updates to the student portal and associated website Maintain SHIP records including enrollment, election changes, and exceptions Participate in annual renewal negotiations with insurance carrier in partnership with external consultants Provide fiscal responsibility for insurance program annual operating budget Coordinate with vendor to analyze insurance policies provided by students to determine if coverage meets minimum health insurance requirements Maintain contractual relationship with insurance carrier Work with Bursar to reconcile enrollment reports, charges to student accounts, and invoices from insurance carrier Track and monitor expenses for department budget Gather, analyze, and edit information for operational projects as requested by supervisor Follow any other job-related instructions and perform job-related duties as may be reasonably assigned by his/her supervisor or designee
