This position is responsible for supervising the patient estimate staff as well as coordinating and performing professional billing activities such as notify, consent, and good faith estimates in Epic and other authorized vendors in accordance with the requirements of the No Surprise Billing Act (NSBA). This position will utilize Epic tools, such as WQs, reports, and modules/applications to complete these activities for self-pay services, uninsured patients, and patients with non-contracted plans in specific settings. Additionally, this position will assist with the processing applicable pre-service payments and may assist in coordinating and performing the out of network authorization and single case agreement processes for patients with non-contracted plans. In addition this position will work directly with the BJC estimate team to provide the professional portion of the patient estimate when applicable. .
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise patient estimate staff.Â In addition to working the Epic WQs, reports containing scheduled services to identify and verify non-contracted coverage assignment, uninsured, and self pay services. Responsible for completing the good faith estimate process in Epic for scheduled self pay services, uninsured patients, and patients with non-contracted plans in specific settings.
Communicate with patients and work with our patient service staff to process payments prior to service date.
Interact and engage with all departments and WUPN staff.
Routinely interacts with clinical staff, department and department administrators and personnel. Serve as the liaison for the department, division, patients and affiliated hospital systems to coordinate notify, consent, signature, good faith estimate, estimate delivery, OON authorization and single case agreement when applicable.
Analyze non contracted plan payments and work with the payers in the reimbursement resolution dispute process.

Working organizational, accounting, financial and communication skills that require dealing with people and their problems.
Equivalent of an Associateâ™s degree with five years related experience, preferably in medical insurance setting with supervisory duties.
$53,900.00 - $83,500.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
