Wichita State University (WSU), the only urban-serving, public research university in Kansas, seeks an innovative, collaborative, and experienced leader to be the next Executive Director of the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance (OIEC). Reporting to the President of the University, the Executive Director should possess a deep understanding of Title IX, Equal Opportunity, and other federal and state laws pertaining to equal rights and nondiscrimination. The ideal individual will have in-depth experience working in civil rights compliance in higher education; a strong track record in the development, implementation, evaluation, and assessment of educational and preventative outreach initiatives and processes; proven leadership experience driving Title IX investigations; superb communications skills; and the ability to forge partnerships across a campus community.
The Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance supports the mission of the University by overseeing institutional compliance with Title VII, Title IX, ADA/Section 504, and other equal opportunity laws and practices and by working to strengthen a culture that supports a safe and non-discriminatory living, learning, and working environment. The Executive Director will possess the ability to effectively communicate this understanding to stimulate important institutional discussions, pose challenging questions, offer insightful solutions, and communicate effectively and appropriately with necessary stakeholders and the campus at large.
