Position Summary

The Finance and Operations Manager (FOM) reports to and provides direct financial and operational assistance to the Assistant Dean of Finance and Operations (ADFO) in the SOJC. This position also works regularly with SOJC administration, faculty, and other staff members to provide training and guidance on business and financial policies, processes, and procedures. This position coordinates directly with the Central Business Service Office (CBSO), shared with the College of Design and Clark Honors College, to review and approve SOJC accounts payable, purchasing, contracting, and travel requests. The FOM independently manages all accounts receivable, scholarship processing and tracking, and contract review/approvals. This position also serves as budget authority designee for all SOJC Concur procurement cards, reviewing and approving all line item transactions.

The Finance and Operations Manager generates, distributes, and reviews financial reports for various budget holders including both faculty and staff. This position independently interprets reports to ensure expenses are correctly allocated and budgets are not overspent, addressing issues in coordination with the ADFO as they arise.

This position serves as direct supervisor for one Classified Office Specialist position, assigning operational tasks and overseeing work such as general office copier assistance, ordering supplies, and providing backup assistance to the trades/maintenance coordinator position.

Minimum Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a similar field, OR 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance
• Two years of experience working in an accounting system and generating financial reports.
• Two years of direct supervisory experience OR 3+ years of lead work experience including assigning and reviewing tasks
