Salisbury University (SU) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Foundation Controller.
The Salisbury University Foundation, Inc. was created in 1973 as a 501(c)3 to accumulate funds, by gift and investment, and to foster, encourage and enrich the activities, educational programs, athletics and scholarships of SU. It is the intent of the Foundation to promote, sponsor and carry out educational, scientific and charitable purposes and objectives for the benefit of SU and its students. Through the generosity of major benefactors, corporations and foundations, faculty, staff, parents, alumni and friends, the SUF is fulfilling its promise to the SU community.
Primary Job Duties: Maintains the overall financial integrity of the SUF and provides complex and strategic financial analysis in following areas: endowment management, fiscal performance, investment activity, etc. Executes professional accounting processes of a complex nature and ensures compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, USM policies/procedures and other state regulatory authorities. Advises management and Board of Directors regarding the effective use of resources and methods to maximize earnings and benefits to SU and the SUF.
Minimum Qualifications: Seven to ten years of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Non-profit accounting experience is required.
Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Preferred Qualifications: PeopleSoft experience.
This is a full-time, exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
