Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Enterprise Risk Management Coordinator for Ethics & Compliance. The Enterprise Risk Management Coordinator at the direction of the Enterprise Risk Management Manager and other unit leadership works with all areas of Rutgers on the development and implementation of the University's Enterprise Risk Management Program. The position generates surveys that aid in the cataloging of risks, perform administrative duties in support of the ERM program, take minutes during seminars, summarize and catalog identified risks and their related mitigation plans.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Maintain the risk inventory and be proficient in utilizing various software packages to achieve this objective.
Interact with all levels of university stakeholders including, but not limited to, the Office of General Counsel, Office of Labor Relations, Office of Academic Labor Relations and Office of Employment Equity, in order to assist the ERM Manager in managing, monitoring, and educating the organization to ensure risk identified by stakeholders are properly mitigate and compliant with the ERM program.
Document, maintain, and ensure accuracy of lata in risk management systems.
Gather risk related data and conduct research on identified risks and mitigation strategies.
Develop, implement, and devise processes to track risk assessments, ensure appropriateness of internal controls, and monitor mitigation plans.
Memorialize and catalog data capture during risk assessment seminars.
Track, measure, produce reports and presentations that educate and outline risk findings and financial/budgetary impact for University units.
Plans and contributes to the development of the risk management process.
Minimum Education and Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience as an auditor or in an enterprise risk management role.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience reviewing and documenting process weaknesses, internal control gaps and the appropriateness of mitigation strategies.
Experience assessing, developing, and reporting on the financial/budgetary impact of implementing a mitigation plan.
Ability to document communications quickly and thoroughly in a workshop setting.
Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access.
Well organized and able to meticulously assess and summarize information in a concise and clear fashion.
Curious and willing to research and summarize new topics.
An organized self-starter with the ability to take direction, accept feedback, and enthusiastically contribute to the ERM program.
Must understand the risk assessment process, effective internal controls, mitigation strategies and their related financial/budgetary impact, in order to document and reduce areas of risk.
Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position.
Experience preparing risk assessments, developing, implementing, and monitoring mitigation plans in a university setting.
Bachelor's degree specifically in accounting or finance
Four years of experience as an auditor or in an enterprise risk management role.
