Assistant to the Vice President for Planning and Finance and Risk Management Insurance Coordinator

Gannon University, a vibrant Catholic university, invites applications for the position of Assistant to the Vice President for Planning and Finance and Risk Management Insurance Coordinator. The successful candidate will perform a wide variety of complex, confidential, and general administrative functions to support the Vice President. Ensures the office of the Vice President operates in a seamless, effective, efficient, and professional manner; interprets, communicates, and applies policies and procedures in appropriate situations; serves as legal counsel liaison; and performs other related duties. Coordinates the University's insurance programs and provides risk management support to the campus. Must be able to support and promote the University’s Mission and the University service standards of respect, well-being, engaged and seamless.
Required qualifications include an associate degree and a minimum of six years of experience as an office coordinator or paralegal. Three years of insurance and risk management experience required. Higher education or other not-for-profit experience and contract review experience preferred. Pennsylvania Notary Certification required. Must possess knowledge of insurance language and policy limits required for contracts and demonstrate the ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance policies. Knowledge of risk management practices and general knowledge of budgeting is needed. Must have demonstrated proficiency in office software applications and technologies. Must possess strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretionary judgment. Must possess the ability to prioritize, to make decisions independently, to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and to work as part of a team.
