Posted Job Title Director of Fiscal Operations, Penn Arts & Sciences Job Profile Title Director, Fiscal Operations Job Description Summary Reporting to the Vice Dean of Finance and Administration, this position has responsibility for managing the financial operations function within the School of Arts and Sciences. Job Description The Director of Fiscal Operations is the direct supervisor for the managers of the Regional Business Offices (RBO's) in the School of Arts and Sciences and is responsible for implementation of financial policies, controls, and systems designed to ensure that transactions implemented by the RBO's comply with all relevant School and University guidelines while maintaining a close eye on the goal of providing high quality client services and efficient and effective business operations. Lead, manage, and develop the various staff who work in the Regional Business Offices as Managers, Grant Managers, Grant Coordinators, Business Administrators, Financial Admin Coordinators and others. This position partners with the Vice Dean of Finance and Administration, Department Chairs, and members of the university level offices of Finance, Research Services, Audit, Business Services and others to ensure compliance with related policies and procedures and address relevant problems and concerns. This position will be expected to serve as the School representative on appropriate University and School projects and committees, coordinating efforts with the Dean's Office and other School functions. This position will maintain school level responsibility for review and approval of grant proposals, travel-related higher level approval and vet and approve/disapprove various requests for policy exceptions. This position will interact closely with the Director of Financial Management, Budget, and Analysis and other members of the School's senior staff as a member of the Vice Dean's leadership team.
