Salary $73,046-$109,569/Annualized, beginning salary flexible based on qualifications Hours per Week 40 hours per week. Overtime hours occasionally required to meet deadlines. Required Application Materials Required: Resume and Cover Letter Purpose of Position Provides advanced, high-level strategic financial forecasting, reporting and analyses in conjunction with the planning, development and maintenance of the University's Incentivized Resource Management (IRM) budget model and financial strategic initiatives. Makes recommendations regarding the development and continuous monitoring of ongoing financial and budget projects in order to inform senior leadership decision making.
Responsible for the overall organization, management and implementation of strategic financial projects. Performs internal financial management reporting and analyses to support decision making, including forecast models, performance tracking and completion schedules. Essential Functions Typical:
- Provides specialized training and guidance.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Business Information Systems or related field.
- Six years of experience in budget analysis, financial assessment and/or forecasting.
- Experience developing and administering reporting for a large or complex organization.
- Experience leading high-level processes or projects in support of an organization's strategic priorities and at the direction of senior leadership.
- Strong knowledge of the principles and theories of finance, accounting or other related fields and disciplines as demonstrated from relevant positions. High level of technical financial competency including analysis and reporting.
- Ability to effectively use Business Intelligence reporting tools and forecast modeling tools to support budget, planning and forecast activities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and functionalities of financial accounting and reporting systems. Ability to use query and reporting tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communications and ability to multi-task within a team- oriented environment. Ability to work well in a team setting.
- Excellent organization skills in identifying and prioritizing work activities.
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of various project management tools, techniques and best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality work. Ability to handle multiple assignments of various durations.
- Self-starter/independent worker.
- High degree of computer literacy and numerical data analysis skills. Proficiency in the Microsoft suite with advanced skills in Excel.
Preferred Qualifications Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Ten years of progressively responsible experience in project management and financial analysis.
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of data from multiple sources into concise message to drive business results.
- Experience with incentive based budgeting models with respect to developing, reporting and training.
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems (e.g. Peoplesoft), Analytical Reporting tools.
Additional Information At present, this role is a UTSA telecommuting position, and the candidate selected for this position will be required to work from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Telecommuters may be required to work on campus at times; travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. It is expected that this position will return to campus in the future.
