Essential Functions:
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for follow-up insurance billing and credit balance activities, verifying accuracy and completeness of refunds. Contacting insurance companies, and other related duties to expedite and resolve outstanding credits from all payers and patients. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Reviews and resolves correspondence and remittances to verify the validity of refunds.
- Responds to questions and refund requests received from insurance companies and patients in a timely manner.
- Researches misapplied money, returned checks, and credit card corrections.
- Reviews, enters and edits insurance registration information as needed.
- Consistently meets the Quality Assurance (QA) standard established within the department.
- Consistently meets the productivity standard established within the department.
- Assists with special projects.
- Perrforms other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstated personal communicative skills with special emphasis on effective phone communication abilities.
- Thorough, responsible, and organized with assigned tasks.
- Demonstrated proficient use of the GE system and Epic WQ’s.
- Familiarity with ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding.
- Ability to perform general accounting functions.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification with two to three years of related experience in bookkeeping/accounting and/or a medical collection setting.

This position is in the Department of WU Physicians Billing Services. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Job Type/Schedule:
This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.
Salary Range:
The hiring range for this position is $15.85 - $19.43 per hour.
