Position Description: The Director of Governance, Risk & Compliance, leads and directs the UCLA Cybersecurity Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) function and is responsible for partnering with the Chief Information Security Officer in managing a campus-wide, information risk management program, Cybersecurity compliance program and campus-wide cybersecurity marketing campaign. The Director partners with administrative, academic and executive leadership of the UCLA campus to establish and manage a shared vision for a campus information security and develop a compliance program to assess cybersecurity and information risks. Responsibilities include strategy, architecture, solutions design, program coordination and execution, awareness, outreach, policy and standard development as well as reporting on information security program effectiveness. Oversee campus security awareness strategy and programs, including annual employee training and ongoing awareness campaigns. Creates and executes a cyber security outreach and engagement program to improve understanding and alignment in the business regarding cyber security issues. Provide programmatic leadership, guidance and education in the analysis, development, implementation, coordination of, and compliance with, campus-wide information security initiatives while ensuring compliance with federal, state and University regulations. Evaluate, develop and recommend new information security solutions and opportunities to campus senior management. Provide recommendations regarding technical and functional solutions based upon incident analysis. Collaborate with campus IT leadership to deliver expert level information security services including needs assessment, solution development, and training to establish secure networks, infrastructure, applications, databases and end-user computing capabilities; contribute to policy development, disaster recovery planning, and vendor relations. Responsibilities may include vendor/software evaluation, research and proposal development. Additional responsibilities include collaboration with staff to manage workload, ensure integration points are identified, cross-functional impacts are understood and documented, and conduct risk analysis and mitigation related to project delivery; develop Information Security project specifications, processes and procedures; develop project budget estimations; contribute to analysis of vendor software evaluations and selection.
