USC Gould School of Law is seeking an to develop curriculum for and teach our new onlineÂ Information Management & Risk course, which is a part of our new online Certificate in Privacy Law and Cybersecurity. TheÂ instructor will beginÂ work in June 2020 with our partner providerâs team ofÂ instructional designers to create curriculumÂ inÂ our unique,Â interactive online environment during the course development period, from June to December 2020. We expect that eachÂ instructor will spend approximately 10-15 hours of work per week on curriculum development.Â
The instructor will then teach the course during the spring 2021 semester, from January through April 2021. We expect that each instructor will spend approximately 10-15 hours of work per week on instruction of the course, including the timely grading of assignments and communication with students.
Students enrolled in this course will be in our Online LL.M., Online M.S.L., and various of our Online Certificate programs â especially our new certificate in Privacy Law & Cybersecurity. Courses will be developed and taught fully online; lecturers may work from any location within the United States. Candidates should have strong professional background in the field, preferably with law school and/or online teaching experience.
Information Management & Risk (2 units): This class will teach students best practices for overseeing the development, implementation, maintenance and adherence to current privacy laws and regulations.Â Students will learn how to manage and mitigate risk associated with the acquiring, storage/retention, use, sharing and disposing of data.Â Upon completion of the course, students will be able to identify privacy and data protection issues, communicate effectively about privacy and data protection issues, and offer solutions to relevant stakeholders such as customers, end users, suppliers, vendors, regulatory authorities, and others.
