Oversees daily operations for the University Center (UC) and Gallogly Event Center (GC) including supervision of building managers, front of house, and information desk staff. Coordinates UC programming series and events throughout the year in the facility. Supervises event production team providing audio visual support, event set up, and on-call event support, for all events occurring in the UC and across campus. Responsible for realizing University Center strategic goals related to the building’s facilities, services, programs, and community outreach, in support of the University Center and Event Services mission to create successful learning environments, inclusive/safe places, and encourage student development and growth.
Assist in administration of the UC operations and overall responsibility for customer service interactions.
Working with graduate student staff, provide supervision and oversight of building manager and information desk operations for the University Center.
Ensure UC Information Desk procedures such as mail service, key checkout, lost and found, and locker rentals are organized and align with policies; works with Lion One Card Service Manager to stay abreast of functions related to One-Card Student ID services as well as cash handling.
Assist in developing and implementing appropriate facility policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Maintain standards of facility cleanliness and presentation. Acts as a liaison with Facilities Services to provide coordination of housekeeping, maintenance, and repairs.
Work with the Department of Public Safety and Risk Management to ensure building safety and responsible operating practices in line with the UC’s Emergency Response Plan including training. Serves as the University Center safety officer and oversees their emergency preparation plan.
Manage facility technology, including operation of digital signage usage, TV’s screen, and installed Audiovisual Equipment.
University Center Programming
Work collaboratively with partners across campus in support of student-focused programming schedule for the University Center and any satellite areas.
Plan, coordinate, and execute regular programming opportunities within the UC.
Through programming, provide support for an inclusive, diverse, engaging, and safe environment for student development, learning, and interaction in the University Center.
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate professional, graduate, and student staff.
Oversee all aspects of the Event Production operational area providing audiovisual, set up, and on call support for a wide variety of campus programs, services, and events as well as contracted conferences.
Responsible for entire UCES student employee development and training program that supports, in addition to job training, students’ academic, personal, and professional goals. The program is designed and assessed around student learning outcomes.
Act as a Co-Advisor to the University Center Advisory Board.
Coordinate regular facility tenants, campus departments, and the community through administration the UC advisory board and UC Occupant Committee regarding the development and evaluation of goals, facilities, operations and services of the University Center.
Assist with oversight and tracking of UC programming and services budget as well as the event production budget, event equipment purchases, student/staff development, and student hourly wages.
Represent the University Center and Event Services by participating on various campus committees.
Assessment and Evaluation
Work with students, faculty, staff and guests to understand needs, assess performance, and continually improve services within the University Center.
Maintain a system for measurement of customer satisfaction by which feedback can be tracked and measured to help enable the highest levels of customer satisfaction for the services performed.
Assist with research and assessment of changing student demographics and campus trends to support University Center program design.
