Position Description: Under the direction of the Administrative Operations Director, the Manager, Insurance and Billing Services plans and directs all of the administrative functions of the Insurance and Billing Services department. The position analyzes and establishes short-term and long-term objectives and implements effective organizational planning. Responsible for developing and implementing the University-sponsored insurance program and complex billing, collection, claims submission processes. Responsible for planning and staffing requirements. Responsibilities include management of department operation, financial management, staff management, oversight of the administration of graduate (GSHIP) and undergraduate (USHIP) insurance programs, management of the department's web pages and special projects. Responsible for developing and revising policies and procedures for the insurance and billing services department, and coordinating their implementation, in accordance with the state and federal insurance and billing regulations. Counsel for Ashe staff and students and engaging as a direct advisory role to UCOP Operations, external insurance entities, and campus divisions.
