BA/BS in Nursing or Health Care Management required
Masters Degree preferred.
Minimum: Two (2) years of experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting, professional liability company, or other healthcare oriented company within the last eight (8) years.
Preferred: Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) designation.
Progressive experience in healthcare administration with experience in healthcare Risk Management.
Knowledge of clinical practice and ambulatory care experience. Â
Knowledge of JCAHO, Title 22, and CMS regulations pertaining to healthcare.
Knowledge of principles, practices, processes, quality assessment, performance improvement functions, and legal concepts related to healthcare or related field
Fire and Safety Certification.Â If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
To provide program direction and management for the coordination of all activities relating to the ambulatory Risk Management Program. As part of the Office of Integrated Risk Management, this individual will work to protect all USC and Keck Medicine of USC physical, financial and human assets by identifying significant risks to those assets, development and implementation of risk prevention programs, and minimizing the cost of claims through effective claims and litigation management. Functions include:â¢Coordinate systems to identify, evaluate, monitor and reduce/eliminate liability risk exposures â¢Loss prevention and reduction assessment and plan development with appropriate initiatives â¢Management of occurrence reporting, data collection, analysis, tracking and trendingâ¢Coordinating the Risk Management Patient Safety Committee effortsRisk assessment, analysis, and trending according to frequency and severity, as part of a coordinated Integrated Risk Management Plan â¢ Consult and educate management, staff, patients and guests on risk exposures, prevention and reduction strategiesâ¢Serves as a resource/consultant for all departments
