The Office of Insurance Services supports the University's mission by identifying, mitigating and insuring against a wide range of risks. Our office strives to do this while maintaining focus, prioritization, and a data-driven approach in decision-making for insurance services provided to the university.
We are searching for an Insurance Analyst; this is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. In this role, you will be expected to deliver a high standard of excellence in customer service and support in all areas related to the global property and casualty insurance programs. Reporting directly to the Manager of Insurance Services, you will assist in providing ongoing assessment of insurance needs and options, as well as develop underwriting data and insurance marketing submissions for insurance policy placement, claims administrations, loss analysis, issuing proofs of insurance coverage, contract review, coverage analysis, and general office and administrative duties.

Core responsibilities will include:
Assisting in assessing risk, collecting underwriting data, completing insurance applications, reviewing quotes, binders and policies, interpreting coverage, issuing proofs of insurance, facilitating loss control services and following up on recommendations, identifying and sharing resources provided by external insurance partners and providers.
Providing support in all aspects of claims management to include claims reporting, information gathering, claims investigations, tracking of self-insurance retention,repayment of policy deductibles, pursuing subrogation, updating claims account handling instructions, obtaining and reviewing loss runs, identifying loss trends, facilitating loss control solutions, and providing support for claims in litigation.
Handling various insurance and risk related programs to include those related to vehicles, trailers, boats, aircraft, drones, and property, along with maintaining all insurance related schedules and supporting documentation.
Assisting, and in some cases leading, initiatives to develop, maintain and improve processes, procedures, guidelines, trainings, standard methodologies, FAQ's, forms, tools, department website, and the Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS).
Managing all administrative duties of the department to include maintaining paper and digital files, spreadsheets and databases of insurance policies, claims, incidents, projects, tasks; processing financial items including invoices, checks, expense reports and provide support for allocations, budgets and end of summaries; arranging travel, managing department calendars, ordering supplies, processing incoming and outgoing mail and serving as a contact for department inquiries.

You should be able to work outside normal business hours as occasional evening and weekend hours may be required, as well as time-sensitive responses when involving a loss event.
Occasional off-campus travel to include meetings, trainings, and conferences with overnight stay may be needed.
Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field required or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Minimum three years of insurance, claims, or related experience required; higher education experience preferred. Advanced degree may be substituted for experience.
Willingness to pursue professional certifications such as ARM (Associates in Risk Management), AINS (Associates in General Insurance) and/or AIC (Associates in Claims).
A valid driver's license.
