ROLE of the POSITION
The purpose of this role is to lead independent compliance and quality assurance efforts for the campus to ensure adherence to state, federal and NSHE regulations, policies, and procedures associated with financial and business processes managed by the division of business affairs.
The individual filling this role will assess risk; conduct periodic and ad hoc assessments of operations to evaluate compliance and adherence to quality standards; develop and present training to improve compliance and quality; and identify opportunities to improve business processes while reducing risk of non-compliance.

This position will provide university management with independent analytical and review services focused on risk assessment, prevention, detection, and response. The Executive Director has three primary foci: Oversight of university business activities; ad hoc reviews, assessments, and analyses; and improvement efforts.
Oversight of university business activities: Assess and monitor whether university policies, procedures, and processes are operating as intended through design, development, and implementation of an annual quality assurance work plan.
Ad hoc reviews, assessments, and analyses: Perform ad hoc reviews, assessments, and analyses when requested; support internal investigations of concerns/complaints related to financial management, policies, and processes. This service-oriented leader will develop innovative best practices by analyzing patterns and trends and reviewing and reporting on internal and external controls.
Improvement efforts: Provide leadership, expertise, and guidance by collaborating with central business operations and departmental units to support efforts to analyze business operations and identify opportunities for process improvements. They will manage their time and maximize productivity by implementing process improvement projects in their unit with the goal of increasing customer satisfaction levels.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field from a regionally accredited college or university, and 7 years of comparable experience.
Must understand generally accepted accounting principles and generally accepted auditing standards for a public university.
This position must have the knowledge and expertise to design and implement a quality assurance program, including use of analytical, statistical and process improvement tools
Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
CPA, Certified Internal Auditor, Baldridge Examiner, and / or Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
Advanced degree in business or related field
