Job Description The Senior Financial Analyst partners with the Business Services finance team to lead consolidation and reporting of financial and operational information for division and University-wide deliverables. Utilize standard University tools (Business Objects, Hyperion Planning, MS Office, etc) to support and improve on this reporting process and its output. Ensure use of analysis and reporting best practices across the Division and assist with training and development in the departments. Strong client orientation is crucial to this role given its support of multiple business units across the Division.
The position also partners with operational leaders and provide financial expertise for multiple cost centers/business units through monitoring operational performance, leading financial forecasting and budgeting, evaluating cost effectiveness of existing and proposed programs or investments, and exploring investment alternatives to ensure optimal use of resources (strategic analysis). In all cases, industry appropriate standards and benchmarks will be expected to be incorporated into analysis.
Additionally, this position is expected to support strategic planning/projects and identify & recommend continuous opportunities for improvement of financial reporting and business partnering capacities.
Serve as resident financial reporting and Hyperion expert. Ensure use of appropriate tools across the Division. Develop templates for common practices to ensure the consistency of format and terminology across the Division, where appropriate. Train and develop other Division colleagues on best practices in reporting and analysis.
Support operational leaders and provide financial leadership through financial planning, budgeting, internal controls, process improvement, capital/technology investment projects, audit consultation, and other tasks as necessary.
Oversee monthly reporting of operational metrics and KPIs. Ensure departmental teams have the resources necessary to collect and report the required information and use the ClearPoint reporting tool. Serve as ClearPoint administrator and resident expert. Ensure good working relationship with vendor and evaluate any upgrades or changes for the return on investment. Identify and implement opportunities to improve monthly reporting process.
Demonstrate financial leadership in divisional strategic projects/initiatives through financial planning, budgeting, internal controls, process improvement, capital/technology investment projects, audit consultation, and other tasks as necessary.
Complex financial and operational analysis to support business performance improvement across multiple departments, focusing on return on investment or maximizing customer satisfaction.

A Bachelor's Degree and 5 years to 7 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, data analysis, analytical tools (spreadsheets, report writers, databases), and productivity software.
Training on University financial systems is highly desirable.
Comfort in analyzing and reporting on complex information, including large data sets and a diverse portfolio of businesses.
Excellent inter-personal and communication (written and oral) skills.

Ability to implement sound financial policies and practices with diverse clients.
