Employment Status: Full-time, 'exempt', probationary position (with the possibility of converting to permanent).
Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Overview: The Training, and Learning Management System Specialist is a training and communication subject matter expert reporting to the Executive Director of Risk Management. This position will oversee the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Risk Management training programs and learning management system.
Current employees will be given preferred consideration.
Typical Activities Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Develops, integrates and executes comprehensive training programs, procedures, standards, processes and actions throughout the campus to drive EHS and Risk Management vision, mission, policies, and strategies.
Performs training needs assessment based upon job duties, exposures and compliance requirements.
Develops a department and/or job-specific training plan and matrix.
Identifies competent and/or qualified internal and external resources to deliver all online and in-person training courses.
Partners with internal subject matter experts to design and facilitate EHS and Risk Management instructor lead training courses using sound training techniques with an emphasis on Adult Learning Principles and participant learning style preferences.
Performs training sessions to include classroom, demonstrative (hands-on), and select online curriculum, etc.
Coordinates with internal subject matter experts to develop CSUSB job-specific training materials and courses.
Supports the current EHS and Risk Management training content maintenance, revisions, and implementations.
Evaluates course effectiveness over time and make enhancements and updates to training curriculum as appropriate or as dictated by business needs.
Collects EHS and Risk Management training metrics and KPIs to discover trends for continuous improvement or corrective measures.
Generates periodic compliance status reports to management.
Administers the Learning Management System (LMS) establish and maintain training curriculums in LMS, assign training courses, and track training completion status.
Develops and implements mechanisms to promote safety culture through information sharing.
Prepares and disseminates educational materials, including brochures, posters, workshops and web-based materials to inform the campus community of their roles and responsibilities on EHS and risk mitigation.
Coordinates communication and outreach activities and events to promote compliance and safety culture.
Designs and maintains Risk Management and EHS website.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent AND three (3) years administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience AND a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in training and learning management, instructional design, and use of Learning Management Systems (LMS).
EHS and Risk Management Training Instructional design and development: Extensive expertise in the design and development of formal and informal learning experiences for the adult learner including skill in needs analysis, collaborating with subject matter experts, developing training guides and supporting materials, writing audio scripts, and implementing interactive in-person and online learning activities.
Knowledge management: Experience utilizing a variety of methods to discover, capture, and distribute available information and resources to provide learners with targeted, high-quality intellectual assets.
Training and Learning Management: Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of current Learning Management Systems (LMS), and experience applying a variety of learning technologies and online publishing programs to address specific learning and performance needs.
Strategic thinking: Demonstrated ability to independently extract broad organizational patterns from detailed information and disparate sources with a proven track record of aligning development activities to support and influence long-term objectives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply extensive expertise to complex programs and/or administrative specialties, including pertinent laws and regulations.
Demonstrated expertise in and advanced knowledge of the principles, problems, and methods of public and business administration and operational and fiscal management.
Demonstrated consultative skills in working with internal and external constituent groups.
Expertise in administrative survey techniques, operations and systems analysis, statistical and research methods, and the ability to interpret and evaluate results to develop sound conclusions and recommend new or revised policies.
Ability to understand problems from a broad, interactive perspective and discern applicable underlying principles to conceive of and develop strategic solutions.
Ability to work with representatives from public and private entities and handle potentially sensitive situations.
Ability to effectively present ideas and concepts in written or presentation format and use consultative and facilitation skills to gain consensus.
Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.
