The Executive Director, Enterprise Risk Management, reporting to the CFO, serves as the University's Chief Risk Executive and partners with the University leadership team to ensure that that risks to strategic goals are identified and managed.
The Executive Director will provide leadership in working with the Board, especially the Risk Committee, to communicate and present the University's top risks and its mitigation strategies. The Director is responsible for communicating risk policies and processes to the various responsibility centers (RCs) for the University including each of its campuses.
Because this is an inaugural role, the Director will be responsible for working with the RCs in developing an enterprise risk management program for the University. The Director will also be required to establish a blueprint to organize and staff the Office of Enterprise Risk Management which includes directing the current ongoing insurance programs. Responsibilities can vary based on the day-to-day operations, staff management, and overall projects and goals of the department. This position provides internal direction, leadership, and accountability for institutional enterprise risk management and will coordinate with established compliance programs that promote a culture of compliance and the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and responsibility within the University community.
The Director will also be responsible for: * Performing an institution-wide risk assessment * Directing the current ongoing insurance programs * Facilitating a discussion on the University's definition of risk tolerance and risk appetite * Preparing and managing a budget for the office of enterprise risk management
Bachelor's degree required. 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in Enterprise Risk Management and Risk Management multifaceted organization, preferably an institution of higher education company, or combination of education and relevant experience.
All would be considered positively: Law degree (JD), Associate in Risk Management, preferably Enterprise ARM-E, Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP); Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
