The Business Applications Coordinator is responsible for maintaining business application processes for Auxiliary Services with a focus on Dining Services. The Coordinator works directly with Dining Services management to ensure proper operation and maintenance of enterprise software and solutions for an integral component of campus life. Other responsibilities include supporting data-based software application projects within Auxiliary Services and supporting the Associate Director of Business Support Services in department-wide business systems projects.
Maintains Dining Services’ menu management system. Trains end-users on software usage, policies and procedures. Works with vendors on software upgrades and maintenance issues.
Manages the operation of Dining Services’ digital signage menu boards. Supports users creating day-to-day content and provides higher level programming services for active content.
Coordinates deployment, maintenance and usage of Point of Sale equipment and POS and Catering software. Updates menu configurations, pricing, tenders, etc.
Trains and supports Dining staff on the use of POS and Catering applications, creates reports, and resolves problems.
Maintains in-house and commercial mobile applications for Auxiliary Services.
Cross-trains with and supports the Business Applications Specialist for the Bookstore, Printing Services and Housing in the areas of the retail management systems as needed.
Researches and recommends new technologies and monitors trends in support of departmental goals. Participates in long-range planning related to business applications.
Attends applicable training and educational conferences.
Assists the areas of Business Support Services within Auxiliary Services as needed.
Develops and maintains professional relationships that reflect courtesy, civility, and mutual respect.
Builds productive relationships with internal and external constituencies.
Utilizes coaching and mentoring methods which provide an environment that is anticipatory, supportive, and encourages constructive feedback on performance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/DYNAMICS: The Business Applications Coordinator will work in an office environment. Assignment and job functions require appropriate time management techniques. Employee is indirectly supervised and must possess a high degree of self-motivation and ability to evaluate his/her own progress. Assignments and job functions have clear guidelines, although the employee is responsible for defining specific tasks and projects on a priority basis. Changes in technology is a large part of employee’s work dynamics.
WORK YEAR: Full-time, fiscal year.
WORK SCHEDULE: Normal University of Maine business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Due to the nature of the position, work beyond regular hours (to include evenings and weekends) will be necessary in order to meet the requirements of the position. The employee should establish regular office hours and in consultation with the supervisor, adjust the work schedule as appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in related field (such as Business Administration or Information Systems) and 2 to 3 years of relative experience.
Advanced computer skills with proficiency in information systems technologies.
Must have demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Interpersonal skills must be sufficient to effectively communicate and coordinate with all levels of the University community.
The ability to work as part of a team.
Previous experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word).
Knowledge of food service management operations.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong knowledge of Visual Basic/Java/Swift, HTML, MS SQL, Visual Studio.Net and Crystal Reports.
