Northern Michigan University is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst. This position is responsible for preparing financial analyses and reports related to revenues, expenditures, and performance outcomes, developing and maintaining University financial and enrollment models for on-going review of University financial status, and assisting the Budget Director with University budget planning processes. This position will also provide consultation to departments regarding budget, finance, and human resource administrative systems related issues.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field or a Bachelor's degree with equivalent work experience in finance/accounting.
Five years of progressive experience in finance, financial planning and analysis, budgeting and fiscal reporting at a higher education institution or a medium or large corporation.
Experience working with enterprise financial systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of financial planning and analyses, budgeting, fiscal reporting and current accounting principles.
Proficiency in functional cost analysis and developing analytical reports.
High level of proficiency using and leveraging technology, including utilizing database query tools and extracting data from large databases.
Strong data visualization and analytical skills.
Ability to create effective data presentations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Possess accuracy, attention to detail and good planning and organization skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with all levels of staff and management.
