The Vulnerability and Risk Analyst will assist with day-to-day operations to ensure that the requirements of the Chapman Information Security Policy are carried out for any technology functions related to vulnerability and threat risk management: identification, remediation, mitigation, and reporting.
Bachelor's degree (BS preferred) or equivalent combination of professional experience and education.
A minimum of two years of relevant experience.
Experience using and supporting any commercial vulnerability and compliance scanning products (e.g. Qualys, Rapid7, TripWire, Foundstone, nCircle, Nessus).
Understanding of configuration management, change control processes, problem determination, root cause analysis, risk assessment, & exception management.
Ability to serve as a technical resource in technology controls and information security for project teams, the business, organization and outside vendors.
Strong critical thinking, communication, troubleshooting and systems analysis skills.
Strong interpersonal skills to work with a diverse group of individuals at all university levels, both inside and outside of the department.
Ability to learn and interpret university policies and department processes.
Tact and diplomacy and maintain high level of confidentiality.
Strong customer service, critical thinking, communication, troubleshooting and systems analysis skills.
Ability to prioritize duties when faced with interruptions, distractions and fluctuating workload and complete them in a timely manner.
Previous work experience in higher education.
Information Security Certifications like CISSP or GIAC.
