This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration and claims management process for the Office of Risk Management, which includes all University insurance and self-insurance plans, student insurance programs, and various policies related to the University's risk management efforts, such as qualifications to drive University vehicles and to participate in University programs involving minors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Responsible for reporting claims to proper service providers and monitor record-keeping systems, including but not limited to accurate payment of claims and expenses; obtaining signed releases; reviewing and reporting on of reserve estimates and analyses regarding claim experience and loss history; and maintaining required lists of University real property, vehicles, and other specified types of property and informing insurers of changes as required. 2.Work with campus departments and students regarding administration of the International Student and Athletic Health Insurance programs, including communication on insurance questions and claims. 3.Respond to general risk management inquiries such as coverage and liability, including but not limited to reporting claims and incidents as required by insurance partners. 4.Manage all insurance claims to prompt resolution, while acting as the liaison to insurers and TPA's. Investigate and analyze details of insurance claims to ascertain the amount of damage. 5.Work with departments for adherence to UPP 1-26 (University Vehicles and Driving Training Policy) and UPP 4-26 (Working with Minors Policy) instruction of University personnel in its proper usage. 6.Coordinate insurance policy review and renewal activities in conjunction with designated insurance brokers, including but not limited to preparation of policy applications; managing activities of designated insurance brokers; verifying that policy quotations conform to minimum University requirements; arrange for required letters of credit; and participate in periodic reviews of third-party claims administrators. 7.Collaborate with internal and external sources to assist in proper claim handling and procedures, including but not limited to management of the University's return to duty programs and the management of the University's
