Directs the daily activity of staff of the Pre Service/Managed Care Exchange Counselors. Establishes quotas for staff to reach monthly goals. Supervises workflow within designated area. Establishes procedures to ensure consistency within the work area.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONIBILITIES
Directs and monitors daily activity of Pre Service/Health Care Exchange Counselors.
Review, monitor and make recommendations for Financial/Health Care Exchange Counselor workflow and processes.
Prepare, monitor and maintain Policies and Procedures
Assist with enrolling patients in Government insurance plans (Medicare, Medicaid, HealthCare Exchange.
Evaluate and distribute duties within work area.
Assist with reviewing, monitoring and coordinating pre-service requests.
Coordinate and monitor Opt Out and International Self-Pay patients and coordinate for contracting.
Review and monitor pre-service financial profiles.
Assist Manager with establishing projections and goals.
Administer personnel policies.
Assist with or manage special projects.
Interact with clinical departments support staff to enhance pre-service and insurance review processes, includes assisting manager and provide in-service training to epartments/divisions
Keep updated on changes in financial counseling and Health Care Exchange processes.
Other duties as assigned
Equivalent of Associate’s degree with 5 years related experience, preferably in medical insurance setting with supervisory duties.
Equivalent of high school diploma with 5 years related work experience, preferably Financial Counseling-assisting patients/consumers with enrolling in Government insurance plans.
Medical billing setting, minimum two years supervisory experience, organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi task and follow through to completion, ability to work in stressful, fast paced environment.
Ability to recognize, analyze, and report trends.
Supervisory/management experience required; ability to handle confidential matters discretely is required;
Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail; computer knowledge/skills to include word processing (Word), spreadsheet (Excel), Internet, GE/IDX, and e-mail required.
Epic practice management system design and implementation. GE/IDX practice management system applications.
The position is full-time and works approxmiately 40 hours per week.

The hiring range for this position is $49,275 - $62,836 annually.
