Performs follow-up activities on outstanding A/R special projects. Verify accuracy and completeness of claims, contacts insurance companies in regards to expediting payments from various payers for physician’s services.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs follow-up duties on specific financial classifications such as commercial/managed care insurance, Medicare and Medicaid claims.
Contact insurance companies by phone or through website to identify reason for denial or suspension of claim.
Work with Insurance companies to resolve no payment, unsolved or rejected claims.
Reviews remittance advises for rejection and accuracy of payment amounts.
Responds to questions and requests from Insurance companies and patients.
Work Special Project spreadsheets to review and resolve outstanding AR.
Run PRISM reports as requested to monitor AR.
Look for payer rejection trends.
Equivalent of High School diploma with 2 to 3 years of experience in medical collection setting.
Working knowledge of computers, general office equipment, telephone console, medical terminology, collection techniques and communication skills that involves dealing with confidential information.
The hiring range for this position is $15.24 - $18.68 per hour.
