The Project Manager, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), supports VUMCâs Enterprise Risk Management initiative through project support and management, and risk identification, assessment and monitoring efforts. This management includes ongoing assessment of both current and emerging enterprise risks, supporting the Risk Owners in development and monitoring of mitigation plans, and communication of risks and monitoring/mitigation strategies to leadership and the broader VUMC community.
Project Management and Leadership
Develops and maintains ERM content, including tools, practices, policies and procedures, and timelines to ensure the ERM program aligns with the strategic plans of VUMC;
Facilitates aggregation and analysis of risk, exposure, and data regarding prior experience, such as claim and loss data;
Conducts and drives enterprise-wide risk assessments and identifies key risk trends;
Creates and maintains an up-to-date and relevant Risk Register including Risk Owners;
Develops a schedule of and executes âRisk Deep Divesâ into key risks, leveraging resources as appropriate;
Supports Risk Owners to develop and monitor mitigation efforts;
Communication and Change Management
Leads, guides, coaches, and mentors Risk Owners assigned to develop and monitor risk mitigation activities;
Creates measurement metrics and communication formats and tools for risk analyses, particularly for the key risks;
Analyzes key risk information for reports to executive management and the Audit & Compliance Committee of the Board of Directors, when requested;
Participates in key organizational committees as part of the integration of enterprise risk management processes into business operations;
Coordinates efforts and drives integration of risks and their management action plans into divisional strategic initiatives;
Promotes a culture of risk awareness and accountability through training, education and risk management consultative support;
Plans and delivers educational sessions on risk management principles and practices;
Prepares high quality presentation materials for senior leadership and the Audit & Compliance Committee of the Board of Directors, when requested;
Facilitates identification of gaps in ERM program to drive continuous improvement;
Explores âbest in classâ ERM activities and critical success factors to implement within VUMCâs program;
Continuously improves and matures the ERM program.
