Carnegie Mellon University's department of University Health Services (UHS) is searching for an Insurance and Business Operations Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing valuable administrative and financial depth to UHS operations, as well as advocate and problem solve for patients/students with the Student Health Insurance Plan.
Core responsibilities will include:
Manage the student insurance program operation to include: ensuring sound processes are in place for efficient and accurate enrollment, solving complex claims issues, participate in the bid and award process by assisting the Sr. Business Administrator in the compilation, mailing and review of RFPs and proposals.
Responsible for all medical buying, negotiating contracts and pricing with medical supply vendors, tracking and development of medical appliance and drug recalls, and bench-marking medication/medical appliance pricing with outpatient ambulatory care industry standards.Sets and maintains policies for monthly medical inventory reconciliation.
Responsible for processing Oracle transactions related to purchase orders, p-cards, expense reports, and vendor invoices.
Ensure that cash operations and other business processes comply with recommended business practices.
Participate strategic planning and supports accreditation efforts.

Bachelor's degree in finance, business management, accounting or related field required; Master's preferred
Minimum one year of experience working in a related field required; three to five years of experience in a medical setting or medical insurance highly desired
Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare software applications, HIPAA, and web management preferred
Ability to work occasional weekend and evening hours as required
