Performs follow-up insurance billing and makes collection calls to patients.� Includes verifying accuracy and completeness of claims and contacts insurance companies in regard to expediting payments from various payers for physician’s services.� Eligible candidates may qualify for a shift differential upon completion of training.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contact patients by telephone to collect on outstanding balances.��������
Answer incoming calls with superior customer service skills in responding to patient needs or responding to requests on the patient’s behalf.
Performs collection follow-up duties on specific financial classifications such as commercial insurance, self-pay, Medicare, and Medicaid claims.
Open, distribute or process patient correspondence and returned patient statements.� Skip trace patients to locate/contact for account resolution.
Responds to questions and requests from insurance companies.
May fill in and/or assist other collection unit employees and other duties as assigned.
Equivalent of High School diploma with 2 to 3 years of related experience in bookkeeping/accounting and/or medical collection setting.
Experience with Epic Billing System.
Experience in medical collections or customer service.
Working knowledge of computers, general office equipment, telephone console, medical terminology, collection techniques and communication skills that involve dealing with confidential information.
Ability to type 40 words per minute.
This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.
Hours are Monday through Thursday 9:00 am to 7:30 pm and may be adjusted for holidays.

The hiring range for this position is $15.24 - $18.68 per hour.
