Northwestern University is seeking a temporary Student Insurance Assistant for the Chicago campus.
Temporary Job Description:
The temporary Student Insurance Assistant position provides customer service and clerical support for the annual insurance selection process (which impacts ~18K students, who must either confirm or waive NU-SHIP coverage within a defined open enrollment period). Answer questions from students, parents, and campus partners regarding insurance requirements and deadlines, health insurance billing and claims issues, and comparable coverage requirements for alternate plans. Guide students through the online Coverage Selection Form in CAESAR, and help students assess alternate plans for compliance with Northwestern requirements.
A bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively by phone, email, and in person, with students, staff, and others having business with office; and to maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrated cross-cultural competence.
Ability to interact effectively and courteously with diverse constituencies.
Computer literacy skills (i.e., familiarity with Microsoft Office suite), moderate typing and keyboard skills, ability to use various office equipment (i.e., computer workstation, copier, fax, calculator)
Ability to work independently with frequent interruptions, in addition to contributing to a team environment
MS Office suite 2013 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
