Reporting to the Director of Marketing Analytics and Strategy, the Associate Director of Recruitment Analytics and Strategy will support the analysis of the effectiveness of the outreach efforts for enrollments to degree and non-degree programs and provide insight into opportunities for specific improvements. The Associate Director will also lead the efforts to analyze and provide information to better inform scholarship awards and improve the probability of enrollment or yield. This role will also focus on competitive analysis and identifying new markets for graduate programs.
Analyze marketing, communications, and design strategy with a focus on analysis of recruitment and marketing efforts
Collaborate with program leaders to identify growth targets, develop strategies for building program visibility and interest, and metrics for marketing measurement
Seek industry best practices and present creative ideas to program leaders to improve admissions across the application lifecycle
Evaluate the return on investment of marketing, outreach, and communications efforts
Review site analytics, including but not limited to path analysis with Google Analytics and AdWords
Provide technical training and guidance for the recruitment team and others as needed.
Provide data and analysis to improve conversion across the admissions cycle
Determine appropriate metrics and data points to track on a regular basis
Develop working knowledge of different systems (Slate, Salesforce, Tableau, and any other relevant programs used by UChicago).
Create reports tracking admission progress and provide regular updates on progress toward enrollment goals; present findings to colleagues and constituents as needed
Manage data collection, distribution, and data visualization, collaborating with faculty, relevant department leaders, as appropriate
Communicate regularly and clearly with staff to ensure that data needs are well understood and that data collected is useful and accurate
Serve as primary holder of various sources of data and export key data points for recruitment team
Design and build data dashboards and real-time reporting capability according to each team’s needs
Serve as expert in data analysis and data reporting
Analyze data as requested in the following areas (may include additional areas)
Conversion rates across the admissions cycle and by program
Predicting likelihood of enrollment
Improve financial modeling to determine most strategic financial packaging
Opportunities for improvement throughout the cycle as well improvements by program
Assist with cross-department data projects and combine data from different departments when necessary and to ensure continuity and efficiency
Organize data training sessions for staff to best support their needs
Prepare reports on key metrics on a regular basis (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly)
Manage KPI dashboard for recruitment team
Prepare annual reports at the end of each academic year to provide more in-depth analysis
Provide ad-hoc support for special data project needs from each department, such as feasibility studies of new initiatives and growth strategies
Prepare annual external reports as needed
Provide key data points for marketing and communications materials
Provide daily support including, but not limited to outreach lists, groups, etc
Competencies and skills:
Strong marketing and analytical skills
Ability to problem-solve with minimal direction and exercise good judgment in key-decision making
Ability to deliver high-quality work with limited timelines
Strong business and financial acumen
Strong project management skills; excellent communication and marketing skills
Ability to work on multiple projects and manage day-to-day tasks effectively and professionally
Ability to operate Microsoft Office Suite, the internet, and email, with proficiency in working with web analytical tools
Ability to interact with prospective faculty, staff, and graduate students
Working understanding of the admissions/recruitment funnel
A minimum of 5-7 years managing and developing program initiatives required
Experience presenting work in a professional setting
Experience in Google Analytics required, working knowledge Slate, Salesforce, Tableau, SQL, and AdWords preferred
Experience in web design and operating content management systems such as Drupal, Expression Engine, and others preferred
Prior experience working with a recruitment cycle in an academic setting
