The Business Manager will provide administrative and financial support to various units and accounts within the department. This position provides support for a variety of activities, including, but not limited to: budgeting, accounting, accounts receivable, procurement, travel, inventory, ordering, contract and grant accounting, financial forecasting, billing, revenue tracking, and other activities related to the running of the administrative and financial aspects of the department. Other duties are assigned.
This position will assist with implementing and monitoring various business practices, policies, and procedures within Stamp to ensure the highest level of customer service is provided. This position must adhere to University financial management standards and general management and accounting principles, practices, methods, and techniques. A successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to apply various policies and procedures to real?world situations. In addition, a successful candidate must be enthusiastic, positive, detail?oriented, self?motivated, and possess a demonstrated ability to take initiative. Excellent communication and computer skills are essential to this position.
- Bachelor’s degree. A combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the degree - 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, project management, grant management or other related field - Proficiency in Excel to prepare and analyze complex spreadsheets - Highly developed organization skills, ability to multi?task, and attention to detail - Friendly, flexible, service?oriented manner - Experience in budgeting, forecasting, reconciliation, and revenue tracking - Ability to work well individually and as part of a team - Excellent communication skills and effectively interact with campus departments and internal Stamp colleagues - Ability to analyze and summarize financial information
- Degree in accounting or finance or CPA - Working knowledge of contract and grant administration - Must possess outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal skills - Knowledge of the University systems to include KFS, BPM, Purchasing and Travel guidelines
