Advertised Job Summary:
Under the direction and general supervision of the Assistant Director of Financial Operations, the Accountant/Fiscal Analyst II performs standard support services related to accounts receivable and health insurance duties within Student Health Services. S/he maintains accurate and complete patient accounts regarding outstanding charges, payments, and outstanding balances using an electronic health record and the university's financial accounting systems. Individual will prepare and/or develop a variety of financial reports. S/he analyzes transactions for appropriateness of charges and applies payments as necessary; provides information to patients regarding billing and payment inquiries; in addition to maintaining and reconciling cash receipts daily using the Electronic Health Record. Serves as cashier and answers questions for the general public (University administration, students, parents, outside providers, etc.). Assist in a variety of areas including collections, insurance claims, follow-up and delinquent accounts. The Fiscal Analyst performs other duties as assigned, which may include cross training in other financial service areas.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and 2 years professional accounting experience, or equivalent education and experience.
