Assistant Manager of Student Accounts Controller's Office
Williams is pleased to announce the opening of an Assistant Manager of Student Accounts in the Controllers' Office. The Assistant Manager participates in all facets of student billing and collections; student loan administration, and accounts receivable functions working collaboratively with individuals across campus to ensure efficiency and integrity of the student billing and collection processes at the college.
The college seeks an energetic, service-oriented professional to serve our diverse student body. They must use sound judgment in making what can be precedent setting decisions, working closely with members of campus management, when appropriate.
Process monthly student billing, and applicable refunds, consistent with established college policies
Process daily student financials, financial aid disbursements, course packets and lab charges and grants
Reconcile daily installments plan, student account center payments with student finance system
Working closely with the Office of Financial Aid to monitor student accounts and to determine options for students with unpaid balances
Communicate with students and families in arrears; providing counseling, where appropriate, and making recommendations regarding access to registration and continued enrollment
Communicate with external auditors and other outside parties and agencies to ensure compliance with state, federal and other rules and regulations
Maintain privacy procedures ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
This is a full-time, year-round, regular appointment.
The successful candidates will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written; the ability to relate and interact with members of a diverse student body, their families, outside vendors, and staff is required. A bachelor's degree, and a minimum of three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using Oracle PeopleSoft or other relational database is preferred. A working knowledge of computerized general ledger/billing systems in addition to familiarity with financial aid regulations, red flag rules, and FERPA are highly desirable. Experience with Microsoft Office and email is required. Experience with Quickbooks is a plus. Applicants must be able to work independently as well as show commitment to a team and enjoy working in a complex, deadline-driven office that demands adaptability.
