Provides University representation during design and construction activities to improve compliance and act as a liaison between SSC's project management and the Department and Risk Management and Compliance (RMC). Manages insurance loss claims and coordinates between System Risk Management and Tarleton's property insurance carrier (FM Global) as well as FEMA/TDEM for declared disasters. Responsible for day-to-day management duties associated with special projects generated within the Department of Risk Management &. Compliance (RMC). Helps build enduring and effective relationships with all stakeholders and helps Tarleton to execute solutions that support the Universitystrategic plan; Work hours: 40 hours per week
45% Provides effective university representation and construction management of assigned projects by coordinating all construction activity on these projects, including project design, development of construction documents and specifications, preparation of project estimates and budgets, receipt and evaluation of project proposals, site observation of construction, and project close-out reviews plans and estimates for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to applicable standards, codes, policies, and procedures provides project oversight to ensure construction complies with contract documents, safety, quality, cost, and schedule reviews project for completeness and financial outcome, and submits required documentation for payment and project close-out

20% assist the Director of Risk Management and Compliance with prioritizing workload and monitor progress and adherence to project documents; acts as liaison with other internal customers, contractors, professional service providers, and off-campus stakeholders
10% manages documentation as required by Risk Management and Compliance and follows the standards and guidelines set forth in the Texas A&M University System
5% any other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Building Construction, Architecture, Engineering, Applied Sciences or related field; or any equivalent combination of training and experience; Three years of experience in construction related work or in design and planning facilities including field observation of construction projects;
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of building systems, fire, and life safety codes, building codes, and accessibility standards; Working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software programs; Excellent oral and written communication skills
