The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) at Iowa State University is accepting applications for a Department Fiscal Coordinator to manage departmental financial resources.
The CCEE Department Fiscal Coordinator is responsible for management and oversight of the department’s financial resources, which include the general fund, fee-for-service centers, sponsored funding, and gift funds. The position will collaborate with the department chair, associate chairs, and other colleagues in implementing the financial aspects of the department’s strategic plan. Duties include financial planning and projections of the department’s comprehensive budget including state, federal, contract, grant, and gift funds; drafting and compiling reports to meet fiscal reporting requirements; providing oversight of account reconciliation, and reviewing and approving all financially related transactions for appropriateness and allowability.
The successful candidate will possess strong organizational and leadership skills; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to work independently and manage a heavy workload; and perform under high standards at all times in order to be successful in the position. All staff members are expected to interact collegially and maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 6 years unless otherwise specified under supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.
Preferred qualifications include
• Degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field. • Experience in budget development, analysis, and projection. • Experience managing fiscal accounts and awarded external funding. • Experience with ISU financial policies, systems, and practices.
