In coordination with the President of the College, the President of the Board and the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the day?to?day management activities of the not-for-profit Corporation and implementing policies. The Executive Director ensures the proper functioning of the terms and conditions of the contract between the Corporation and New York State. The Executive Director is granted the authority to make administrative decisions regarding financial and business affairs within the SUNY Auxiliary Service Guidelines, to develop and process recommendations for MAC policy, and to implement procedures for policy within MAC. The Executive Director has the following responsibilities:
Organization, development, and implementation of all campus auxiliary services, both self?operated as well as contracted, that are not under the auspices of the State University of New York. Included among these services are: dining services, campus stores, vending, administrative operations, maintenance services, iceplex, restaurant, brewhouse, transportation, technology services, equine operations, equine drug testing, housing, Auxiliary and Morrisville College Foundation accounting, and other services provided within the framework of the Corporate By?Laws, and Contract with the State University of New York.
Work with the operational unit directors to prepare annual operating budget for approval by the Board of Directors.
Determine, recommend and execute appropriate financing agreements, to include but not limited to bonding, leasing, and borrowing.
Ensure that all funds, physical assets, and other property owned by or assigned to the Corporation are appropriately safeguarded, productive and well maintained.
Act as agent for any and all authorized agency accounts in receiving income, the preparation of checks, accounting records and appropriate reports.
Maintain accounting records in accordance with standard accounting principles as outlined in the new Uniform Accounting System for Auxiliary Services Corporations.
Study cash flow of MAC to determine the amount of funds that can be safely invested at appropriate times and to be responsible for the investment of corporate funds.
Coordinate end-of-year inventories and accounts for auditors.
Propose and review contracts and bids for all MAC matters.
Labor Relations/Personnel Administration
Select, employ, supervise and discharge all employees in positions authorized by the Board of Directors and in accordance with established procedures.
Formulate and submit to the Board of Directors standard operating procedures for personnel and any other activities in connection with the operation of the Corporation, for approval.
Board Related Activities
Keep the Board of Directors informed of the financial transactions of the Morrisville Auxiliary Corporation and to consult with the Board before the execution of any unusual transactions.
Execute, review, and study of the operations and policies of the MAC and make recommendations for appropriate changes to the Board.
Project long-range plans for the Corporation in conjunction with the Board of Directors and/or Director of the components.
Assist the Board of Directors in the preparation of an annual budget for adoption by the Board, with the approval of the President of the College and the State University of New York, and to prepare and submit any such other reports and information as may be requested.
Execute such other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Ensure that the Corporation is in compliance with any policies, guidelines, regulations, statutes, and laws that may apply to any of the services in which the Corporation is engaged.
Establish and maintain control mechanisms and procedures to ensure continued implementation of approved policies in accordance with the State contract, Guidelines and the By-Laws.
Review the insurance needs of the Morrisville Auxiliary Corporation and make recommendations for appropriate changes. (Health Insurance, Worker's Compensation, Liability, Fire, Theft, Auto, Retirement, etc.
Prepare all reports required by law, the Board of Directors, the State University and for efficient management practices.
Periodically meet with the President of the College or his/her designee in order to keep him/her fully informed of the status of MAC enterprises.
Support the mission of the campus to provide applied learning opportunities for the SUNY Morrisville student.
Serve as a non-voting member of the College Foundation Board of Directors.
The Executive Director of MAC has broad and varied responsibilities for organizing and managing the Corporation and may further delegate specific duties: to directors, managers, and supervisors reporting to the Executive Director.
The Executive Director shall be evaluated through a process involving the Board of Directors. Appointment shall be in consultation with the President of the College.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 5 years business financial management required. Demonstrated effective management in an organization of similar size and complexity. Masters degree preferred.

MAC is a not-for-profit company that provides non-academic services to Morrisville State College. This includes campus dining services, two housing facilities, College ID Services, cell phone distribution, facilities maintenance, catering services, the Campus Store, ThinkPad U, and more. MAC also owns and operates Nelson Farms, Morrisville IcePlex, and the Copper Turret Restaurant.

Our budget is derived from meal plans and residence hall service charges. Any money MAC does not spend on its operating costs goes back to the campus, assisting a variety of on and off campus groups and organizations. These range from academic programs, numerous scholarships, Student Government Organization support, funds and donated items to various campus groups and clubs, and subsidized meals for Resident Hall Directors.
The Board of Directors includes two ex-officio members, four students members, three members of the Professional Service Bargaining Unit, one member of the Morrisville College Foundation Board of Directors, one local community member, one member of the College Administrative Staff and one member from SUNY-ESF.
