Serves as a technical lead for all property claims & administers the procurement of insurance for the University. Reviews risk management and insurance matters; recommends and implements appropriate risk management and insurance strategies to manage risk exposures. Manage injury analysis of all Athletic claims and develop cost saving rehab strategies for the Athletics program.
Procure and manage the University Property and Liability insurance portfolios. Assist with managing the insurance renewal process which includes, but is not limited to obtaining and analyzing underwriting data.
Serves as a liaison with the entire campus community and outside organizations to manage, identify, and develop solutions for potential risk management issues. Monitor emerging risks by staying informed of internal processes and changing business shifts.
Assists in the development of risk management and insurance processes/procedures. Administers the system-wide self-insured or insured Property and Casualty claims. Participates in annual policy renewals by securing all scheduled information for timely submission of all applications.
Provides first-line analysis of contracts and/or agreements between the University and outside vendors for risk management implications including insurance coverage, policy limit requirements and ensures the University is current with best practices, specific wording and workings of these documents.
Develops and presents education/awareness training and communications on risk management processes. Performs presentations at each department level to further educate staff on the functions and purpose of the Risk Management Department.
Generate metric reporting and performs analysis to identify trends and challenges.
Helps manage and oversee insurance broker stewardship reporting.
Researches and develops reports on specific risk management topics and stays abreast of risk management issues. Maintains/provides updates to relevant departmental website content, we based reporting systems and risk management information systems.
Research injury analytics and common injuries, providing a platform for understanding the associated short and long term risks of injuries. Visualize data to emphasize the impact of an injury and aid in decision making processes, driving value for the Athletics department and the University as a whole.

Bachelors and 5 years experience
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
