Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (WFBMC) seeks an experienced and dynamic leader to serve as its new Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). This is a critical moment for the Medical Center as it embarks on a period of strategic growth, under the leadership of a new Chief Executive Officer of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and Dean of its School of Medicine. Wake Forest is recharging its commitment to and growth of its research enterprise through active recruitments and a realignment of its research administration infrastructure. The new Director has a unique opportunity to contribute to this growth by further refining and reshaping the OSP, including strategically designing new processes and policies, implementing new initiatives, and establishing a culture of customer service which proactively anticipates and addresses the needs of the research community.
Reporting to the Vice President and Associate Dean for Research Administration and Operations, the Director is responsible for oversight of a broad portfolio that includes all Pre-Award, Post-Award, Contracts, and Reporting services. While fully engaging with the research community and other senior research administrative staff, the Director will more fully lead the OSP into a culture of collaboration, team work and customer service.
The Director will bring to WFBMC the operational expertise and strategic capacity to envision and implement administrative and management systems to enhance and facilitate WFBMC's research goals. To that end, the Director will apply a demonstrated breadth of experience in financial management, budgeting, information systems, grants and contracts administration, regulatory compliance, and metric-driven reporting. A track record of successful leadership in a centralized OSP in an academic research setting, preferably in biomedical research, is required.
