MANAGER OF INSTITUTIONAL RISK SERVICES, Risk Management & Compliance Services (RMCS), to foster and maintain the Institute's system of managing risk by assisting leadership and all levels of management to balance the entrepreneurial and decentralized culture with risk-informed decision making. Responsibilities include directing a risk assessment and analysis program, including facilitating discussions to identify risks and developing strategies to mitigate or manage risk within acceptable levels; participating in/leading efforts to enhance existing risk management practices and address emerging risks; obtaining and consolidating information from multiple sources for presentations; ensuring Institute leadership and department administrators and staff are informed of identified top risks, risk management strategies, and areas where risk management should be strengthened; maintaining awareness of best practices and developing and implementing new tools and processes; monitoring the wider community for trends and indicators that may provide insight into MIT's risks; working with the manager of institutional compliance to develop and provide education in risk management/compliance; and working with other Institute offices to effectively leverage mutual knowledge and understanding of risk and risk management. Will report to the Institute risk officer.
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) in business or law; at least five years' relevant experience; excellent analytical, project management, and oral and written communication skills; comfort communicating with and a strong interest in learning from and educating colleagues at all levels; and proficiency with database management, content management, and other broadly-used business technologies. Seek a strategic thinker, planner, and implementer who can handle multiple projects and competing demands while navigating a complex organization and decentralized culture.
