The scholar will work on developing probabilistic risk assessment models for solving risk analysis in different fields in a multidisciplinary environment, supporting the mission of the Risk Engineering and System Analytics (RESA) Center to become a global leader in risk engineering.
60% - Essential - The scholar will conduct research developing and validating of models for probabilistic risk assessment, risk monitoring, and risk management for various natural and man-made hazards. The key application areas include, but are not limited to: workplace safety, natural catastrophe modeling, supply chain risk assessment, enterprise risk assessment, and working in complex networks and environments. The developed models will have a high potential to solve multi-hazard problems . Consequence and loss estimation will be an important consideration in the model development process. The research fellow is expected to work in a multidisciplinary environment with experts in data science, wireless sensor network, and resilience-based risk mitigation.
30% - Essential - Develop New Research Initiatives: The scholar will write grant proposals to expand the research portfolio of the Risk Engineering and System Analytics Center.
10% - Essential - Dissemination: The scholar will publish the research findings in reputed peer-reviewed risk engineering journals ad, and present the research findings at conferences. The scholar will also work with the related industry to develop practical solutions for risk assessment and risk management. May support education and training through selected topics.
Education - Doctoral Degree in Engineering or related field. Work Exp 3-6 years of research experience.
