The Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, Instructor of Risk Management and Insurance beginning as soon as possible in Fall 2017. We seek applicants that possess at least a Master's degree in risk management and/or insurance, finance, economics, or closely related areas. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the MBA, EMBA, MSF and undergraduate levels, be able to contribute to the future growth of the department and school, establish new and nurture existing relationships with external constituencies, and interact effectively with members of the local business community. Teaching will primarily be at the undergraduate level, with the first classes being taught during Spring 2018. Salary and benefits will be competitive with those at similar business schools. In addition to teaching, this position will involve developing relationships with local firms and establishing various apprenticeship, internship, fellowship and scholarship programs.
UMKC enrolls approximately 16,000 students and is located in the historic Country Club Plaza district of Kansas City, moments from excellent dining and shopping. The Bloch School has approximately 1,800 students, 51 full-time faculty, and excellent technology resources.
