In this role,youwill be responsible for the overalldevelopment,documentation,implementation,coordination,andfacilitation of emergency management,training, preparedness, and response activities.Youwillhave the opportunity to interact andcollaboratewith campus partners,as well asdevelopandmaintainrelationshipswithoutside agencies regarding emergency preparednessandresponseefforts.
Core responsibilities will include:
Planning and Coordination: Plan,organization,andcoordinate updates and improvements to the EmergencyOperationsPlan in accordancewithregulatoryrequirementsand industry bestpractices.Assess the Planandany subsequent auditfindings to identify gapsandprioritize suchimprovements.
Collaboration and Partnership: Work withcampuspeersand other Enterprise Risk Management professionals to develop,exercise, and improve upon emergency preparednessandresponse activities.Thispartnershipalsoincludes but is not limited to UniversityPolice,FacilitiesManagementand Campus Services, Computing Services,andStudentAffairs.
Training andAwareness: Provide trainingandawarenesseducation to the campuscommunity.Developinstructionalmaterialsandgive presentations on emergency preparednessandresponse.
Drills and Exercises:Lead in the development,coordination,andfacilitation of drillsandexercisesused to assess the strength of the Emergency Operations Plan.Followingdrillsandexercises, provide After Action Reports to identify and implement processimprovementopportunities.
Emergency Response and Communications: Participate as a facilitator and member of the Emergency OperationsTeam in the responseandcommunicationseffortsthatwould be required during an emergency event. Serve asIncidentCoordinator where applicable.Adeptat utilizing emergencycommunicationtechnologies for the purpose of testingand/or live eventmanagement.
Emergency OperationsCenter:Identifyand develop the requirements that are neededfor a functionalEmergencyOperationsCenter.
Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, BusinessContinuity, Public Safety, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered
4+ years of emergency management experience required
