Responsible for monitoring all credits created by overpayments from patient and insurance on invoices within our payment management system. Supervise the Credit Balance team to assure job functions are being completed timely & accurately. Establishes quotas for staff to reach monthly goals. Establishes procedures to ensure consistency within the work area. Work with manager to make decisions relative to the operation of the department. Work with all Washington University School of Medicine departments & Washington University Clinical Associate (WUCA) groups with overpayment processing procedures.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs and monitors daily activity of all IBC staff.
Review, monitor and make recommendations for work files to achieve optimal follow up.
Evaluate and distribute duties within work area.
Assist manager with establishing projections and goals.
Monitor and review productivity standards of staff.
Prepare and monitor procedures for all activities.
Administer personnel policies.
Assist with or manage special projects.
Interact with clinical department support staff to enhance billing processes.
Keep updated on changes in credit balance processes.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
GE Centricity or EPIC Professional Billing software experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
5 years of experience in working health care receivables.
Self-motivated individual driven by challenge with the ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy and productivity; an analytical mind with a high degree of intelligence and the ability to “think on his/her feet”.
Strong work ethic and attention to the smallest of details.
Strong computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Equivalent of Associate’s degree with 5 years related experience, preferably in medical insurance setting with supervisory duties.
The hiring range for this position is $49,275 - $62,836 annually.
