The Assistant Director – Financial Aid will participate in the day-to-day function of the Student Service Center in providing excellent customer service to a diverse and multicultural population of students, faculty and staff of the University. The Student Service Center encompasses Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Cashier and the Office of the Registrar. The Assistant Director will support the integrated functions of the Student Service Center as they relate to faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni and the other members of the Student Service Center Team. The Assistant Director will assist in the execution of financial aid programs in compliance with institutional guidelines, private funding agencies and government regulations.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Packaging financial aid awards while maintaining compliance of Maryville packaging policies, federal, NCAA and state regulations;
Assisting with some student account processes;
Reporting and processing data to ensure efficiency and accuracy of student records while reconciling in a timely manner;
Provide accurate counseling to prospective, current and former students both individually and in groups including financial aid, payment procedures, graduation and registration.

Bachelor degree from an accredited university
1 – 2 years of professional experience in higher education financial aid (graduate assistant, internship or student employment experience in financial aid is acceptable)
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Knowledge of integrated software systems as well as Windows applications, file management, and Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to learn new systems
Ability to multi-task and work in an open office atmosphere
Ability to be adaptable, intuitive, and flexible
Strong sense of initiative; self-starter
Financial Aid experience at a 4-year university or college
Experience packaging Title IV, state, private, and institutional funding at bachelor, master or doctoral institutions
Experience with National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), FAA Access, Common Origination and Disbursement (COD), and Colleague/Ellucian MIS
High comfort level with technology and integrated system-process thinking
